If you’re looking for something that will spill beautifully over a wall or brighten up the front of a border, Aubrieta ‘Axcent Violet with Eye’ is a lovely choice. In spring it becomes covered in rich violet-purple flowers, each with a soft contrasting centre, creating a cheerful splash of colour just as the garden starts to wake up.
It’s a low-growing, spreading perennial that works wonderfully in rockeries, gravel gardens or along the edges of raised beds. Once established, it’s tough, reliable and comes back year after year with very little effort.
