Description
Blue Primrose, or Primula, are hardy, low-maintenance perennial bedding plants that may live outside. This beautiful kind has deep blue flowers that add a cool, bright burst of colour to the garden in the winter and early spring. These small plants grow to be about 15-20 cm tall and are great for elevating borders and containers in the winter. They add seasonal interest to UK gardens for a long time.
Blue Primrose comes as sturdy, ready-to-plant bedding plants that are great for flower gardens, edging, patio pots, and window boxes. When hardly much else is blooming, their early blossoms are a good source of nectar for bees and other pollinators. Once they are established, they will come back year after year with little work.
Primroses do best in moist, well-drained soil that gets full sun to light shade. They look great in cottage-style gardens, spring bedding displays, and rockery planting plans. Use a good multipurpose compost with extra grit or perlite in containers to make sure that water drains well.
