Dahlia Little Robert Tubers

  • The Dahlia Little Robert is an impressive herbaceous perennial that produces pom pom shaped flower heads in deep pinks with tinges of cream and pale pink, loved by pollinating insects, in particular bees and butterflies. This striking Summer flowering plant is popular in UK gardens due to it growing to an incredible 100 cm in height and its extended flowering period between June to October. When planted en masse this attractive Dahlia creates a vibrant Summer display.

  • These low maintenance, easy to grow Summer flowering plants are perfect for growing in pots or containers but can be planted up in borders and beds. They can be used as cut flowers allowing you to enjoy them in your home and garden. Dahlia tubers will provide a show all Summer and should be lifted, stored and replanted again the following year. Lifting them should take place before the first frosts, ideally mid Autumn. A light frost wont cause too much damage but leaving it too late in the season can damage the plant.

  • If you are not ready to plant bulbs now, then store them in a cool, dry, frost free, well ventilated location. A garage, shed, loft or cupboard are ideal. Open the paper bag to allow air to circulate round but leave the bulbs in their bags until ready to plant. Just make sure mice or other rodents cant get access to them. Keep an eye on your bulbs while in storage, if they are showing signs of going soft, it's best to get them planted before they deteriorate any further.
