Description
Erysimum is a live outdoor hardy flowering plant, commonly known as Wallflowers. These jumbo Bowels Mauve plants produce masses of mauve flowers above compact busy lance shaped grey green evergreen foliage. This gorgeous perennial plant can grow to a maximum height of 70cm with a spread of a similar size.
Wallflowers are popular for growing in UK gardens, due to their long flowering season. These lovely plants can flower from late Spring, until early Autumn and attract pollinating insects including bees and butterflies. This plant has also received the RHS Plants for Pollinators seal of approval.
Erysimum are best grown in full sunlight in moist well draining soil but they can grow in a variety of soil conditions from poor to moderately fertile. They are ideal for growing in beds, borders and pots in coastal gardens, cottage style gardens and wildlife gardens.
Wallflowers require to be water well before planting and until established but do not like to be overwatered. During the Spring, cut back to keep and help encourage compact growth.
