Description
Erythronium, commonly known as Dog’s Tooth Violet, is a clump-forming perennial that produces elegant, nodding, lily-like flowers in soft shades of yellow, pink, or white during early to mid Spring.
Plant erythronium bulbs in Autumn in humus rich, well-drained soil. Choose a spot with partial to full shade, spacing bulbs 10-15cm apart and planting at a depth of around 10cm. After planting, water well and mulch with leaf mould or compost to retain moisture.
Erythronium bulbs are ideal for shady garden borders, woodland edges, rockeries, and beneath deciduous trees or shrubs. They pair beautifully with ferns, hostas, or other shade-loving perennials.
