Description
Rhubarb ‘Red Champagne’ is a really popular variety, known for its deep red stalks and great flavour. It’s a lovely one to grow if you enjoy using fresh ingredients in the kitchen, whether that’s for crumbles, pies, jams or sauces.
It’s supplied as a strong, established plant, so it’s ready to go straight into the garden and will settle in without too much trouble. Once it gets going, it will produce a reliable crop each year, making it a really rewarding plant to have.
As a hardy perennial, it comes back year after year with very little effort. It also has large, bold leaves, so it adds a nice bit of structure and greenery to the garden as well as being useful.
It grows well in most UK conditions and can be planted in garden beds, allotments or even a large container if you’re short on space.
