Description
Sempervivum, often known as houseleeks or hens and chicks, are wonderfully hardy little succulents that are almost impossible to get wrong. They form neat rosettes of fleshy leaves in shades of green, red and even purple, often changing colour with the seasons. Over time, they produce offsets around the main plant, creating a lovely clustered effect.
Perfect for rockeries, gravel gardens, alpine troughs or shallow containers, Sempervivums thrive where many other plants would struggle. They’re incredibly low maintenance and cope well with dry spells, poor soil and exposed spots.
