Description
The Silver Birch is a elegant, narrowly conical deciduous tree, that can grow to heights of 25 metres.
It produces lovely white peeling bark which turns a darker colour at the base and mid-green diamond shaped leaves that turn yellow in the Autumn.
As the tree grows and spreads it's roots wide, it brings otherwise inaccessible nutrients into the tree, which are then transferred into the soil by falling leaves - helping improve the soil for all other plants in the garden.
