Description
The Tillandsia Cyanea, often known as the Pink Quill, is a really unique and eye-catching houseplant that instantly adds a bit of colour and interest to your space. Its long, narrow green leaves form a neat rosette, topped with a striking pink, fan-shaped flower spike, from which small violet-blue flowers appear. It stays compact at around 10–20cm tall, making it perfect for shelves, desks or windowsills.
It’s a great choice if you want something a little different that’s still easy to care for. The Pink Quill does best in a bright spot with indirect light — somewhere near a window but out of strong afternoon sun works well. It’s happy in normal indoor temperatures and adds a slightly tropical feel to your home without needing lots of attention.
Looking after it is simple. Water when the top of the soil starts to dry out and mist the leaves a couple of times a week to keep humidity up. Try to avoid overwatering, as it doesn’t like sitting in soggy soil. Using rainwater or filtered water is ideal, as it can be sensitive to chemicals in tap water. With just a little care, it will reward you with long-lasting colour and a really distinctive look.
