Description
Vinca minor ‘Tricolour’ is a really useful little plant for filling those awkward areas in the garden where not much else seems to grow. Its mix of green, cream, and soft pink-toned leaves keeps colour in the garden all year round, while the trailing growth helps create a fuller, softer look along borders, under trees, or in shaded corners. It’s a great option if you want something low maintenance that still makes a noticeable difference.
In spring and through the warmer months, it produces small white, purple and violet-blue flowers that stand out beautifully against the variegated foliage, adding even more colour and interest. As it spreads, it forms a dense evergreen carpet that helps cover bare soil and naturally softens the edges of beds and pathways, making the garden feel much more established over time.
It’s very easy to care for too. Plant it in sun, shade, or partial shade in well-drained soil, water while it settles in, and it will happily get on with things with very little effort. Once established, it’s hardy, reliable, and comes back looking good year after year, making it a brilliant choice for easy ground cover.
