Description
Wineberry is a striking plant, a soft fruit that offers clusters of vivid red, shiny berries bursting with a sweet, complex flavour. It's a close cousin to raspberries and blackberries. The berries themselves are ready to eat, or be turned into desserts, jams, and preserves, from early to mid-summer. Even before the fruit appears, the stems, cloaked in fine reddish hairs, provide a visual appeal.
This plant is both vigorous and easy to manage, making it perfect for training along wires, fences, or trellises. It's a great choice for gardens and allotments. Supplied in a 9cm pot, wineberry establishes itself quickly. When supported, it usually grows to a height of 1.5-2.5 meters, offering growers dependable harvests year after year.
